dynashear

The Dynashear in-line, high-shear mixer mixes, dissolves, de-agglomerates, disperses and emulsifies a wide variety of liquids and ingredients. The Dynashear features a tandem head design that combines the benefits of both an axial and radial stage. This creates excellent shear and flow properties resulting in a droplet size reduction to only 2 – 3 microns and a very tight distribution.

The Dynashear is designed to provide maximum versatility. Whether you're looking for a stand-alone inline mixer, a mixer to improve the performance of your batch process or further product refinement, the Dynashear ensures consistent quality with accurate reproducibility.

Advantages

The combination of the two phases provides greater efficiency over inline dispersion pumps that include only axial or only radial technology. A single pass through the Dynashear is equivalent to multiple passes through these “conventional” inline mixers.

ADVANCED TWO-PHASE DESIGN
The primary axial phase

The primary axial stage consists of an axial flow rotor fed into a stator with several small ports. This forces material out between the faces and through the ports. This mechanical and hydraulic action creates a massive shear action that "mixes" ingredients before entering the secondary phase. Particle and droplet size down to 5 – 7 microns is typical at this stage.

The secondary radial phase

The secondary radial stage consists of a radial rotor that discharges product through a slotted stator causing additional mechanical and hydraulic shear. The centrifugal force makes it possible to push mixtures away from the shaft and along the radius of the stator, expelling them at high speed through the edge of the slots. Stable emulsions with droplet sizes of 2 – 3 microns or less are typical at this stage.

Dynashear DS-215 laboratory mixer

The DS-215 is designed for product development, simulation and scale-up. Predictable, repeatable results from lab to full production! The DS-215 is both 3A and EHEDG certified, and can be delivered on a cart in combination with a frequency controller.
